Fire Breaks Out at Wythe Creek Apartments in Poquoson

UPDATE (Oct. 25, 2021, 12:40 p.m.): According to Poquoson Fire Department, the occupants were displaced form the apartments due to water damage caused by flowing water on the building’s roof.

POQUOSON — A room and content fire broke out at Wythe Creek Apartments, 547 Wythe Creek Rd., in Poquoson early Sunday morning.

The City of Poquoson Fire and Rescue responded to a fire around midnight on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Wythe Creek Apartments.

Units were able to get the fire extinguished and under control in around 10 minutes. One resident was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but Poquoson Fire said that the cause does not appear to be suspicious.

Poquoson Fire was also assisted by units from York County and Hampton.
