HAMPTON ROADS — Starting on Oct. 15, Riverside Health System began offering a Medicare Advantage plan to residents of southeastern Virginia. The plan will be in partnership with Fredericksburg-based system, Mary Washington Healthcare.
The Riverside Medicare Advantage Complete (HMO) gives beneficiaries access to the entire Riverside network of more than 700 clinical providers and 9,000 employees, according to a press release from Riverside.
Riverside’s Advantage Complete plan states that it will lower out-of-pocket medical and prescription drug costs for enrollees. It will also give beneficiaries more access to medical professionals through in-person and virtual appointments.
“We believe great healthcare begins with a strong patient-provider relationship. That is why we are thrilled to expand our current care efforts for our senior population and provide them with a wider range of care coverage options,” said Bill Downey, CEO of Riverside Health System. “With the help of our strong network of providers, we are continuing to further our mission: To care for others as we would care for those we love — to enhance their well-being and improve their health.”
The plan is being offered to Medicare-eligible residents of Williamsburg, York County, Gloucester, James City County, Newport News, Poquoson and Hampton.
Medicare beneficiaries can sign up for the Riverside Medicare Advantage plan during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period from Oct.15 – Dec. 7.
