YORKTOWN — As part of Yorktown Market Days, there will be a fall market dedicated to firefighters, sheriff’s deputies, 911 & emergency communications dispatchers, public works officials and other first responders.
The community is invited to come out to the First Responders Market this Saturday (Oct. 16) at Riverwalk Landing to show appreciation to their local first responders.
Participating vendors and artists will provide discounts to first responders who are shopping the market.
Several emergency vehicles and officials will be on site to educate residents and answer questions.
York County Fire & Life Safety will also bring its ladder truck, and the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office will have a patrol car, crime prevention trailer, D.A.R.E. America tent, motorcycles and the K-9 unit.
Public Works’ large Vactor truck, which is used to handle large-scale liquid and sludge clean-up in emergency situations, will be set at the market.
The First Responders Market will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. to noon.
