WILLIAMSBURG — James City County Police Department (JCCPD) has announced that suspects have been identified and charges filed against three North Carolina residents regarding an Aug. 8 fight at Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW).
On Sunday, Aug. 8, a fight broke out in the queue line of the park’s roller coaster, Griffon. At the time of the incident, JCCPD reported that there were three victims, with one sent to the hospital for injuries sustained. Video of the altercation was posted to social media and went viral.
JCCPD put out a call to action for public assistance in identifying three women from the video who fled the scene prior to officers arriving.
In an Aug. 10 email to WYDaily, Matthew Klepeisz, public relations manager for BGW, said, “This behavior is not tolerated and does not align with the experience we want guests to have while visiting our park.”
JCCPD has since identified the women as Christine Nicole Howard, 23, and Elizabeth G. Marrero, 27, of Candler, N.C., and Junika Marionette Dunn, 30, of New Bern N.C.
On Monday, Oct. 11, JCCPD announced that charges have been filed against Howard, Marrero, and Dunn. These charges include:
- Assault and battery
- Felony maiming
As of Monday morning, all three women remain at large.
Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Howard, Marrero or Dunn is asked to give JCCPD a call at (757) 566-0112.
