Gloucester County to Conduct Study on Various forms of Transportation

GLOUCESTER COUNTY — In an effort to improve transportation, officials in Gloucester are seeking input from residents and visitors about how people move through the county.

The Multimodal Transportation Study is being funded by a grant from the the Virginia Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment (OIPI).

The Toole Design Group, a planning, engineering and landscape architecture firm, will advise the Gloucester Planning and Zone Department as it identifies and develops four priority projects for the county to pursue for implementation.

“Multimodal transportation” refers to the ability of all users, motorized or not, to utilize a transportation network.

“This important study will provide invaluable information into the current transportation situation, as well as our community’s goals for the future,” said Anne Ducey-Ortiz, Gloucester County’s planning, zoning and environmental programs director.  “Citizen engagement is paramount to a successful study, and we hope that local residents and visitors will take a few moments and fill out the survey.”
