
WILLIAMSBURG — The fall equinox on Sept. 22 might have officially marked the end of summer, but it also is the beginning of a season full of many festivities around the Historic Triangle. Here is a round-up of upcoming events and attractions at Colonial Williamsburg:
Fire a Flintlock Musket:
Visitors at Colonial Williamsburg can test their aim with two different reproduction 18th-century firearms. Guests wanting to participate in this event must be 14 or older. Those who are under the ages of 14-17, must be accompanied by a legally responsible adult. Colonial Williamsburg will be running this event all day on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
This event begins at the Williamsburg Lodge.
Craft Time at the Art Museums:
After exploring the art galleries, visitors to the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg can make their way to the education studio anytime between 3:30-4:30 p.m. to create a work of art inspired by an object in the exhibit. The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg are open daily from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The Golden Horseshoe Golf Clinic:
Resort guests can attend a 30-minute golf clinic at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. Tuesday and Friday from 3-3:30 p.m.
Haunted Williamsburg:
Colonial Williamsburg has already begun their Haunted Williamsburg tour that grants visitors exclusive access to historic outdoor spaces. The tour features costumed storytellers who share their haunted stories. The tour is a one-hour candlelit walking tour that takes the audience through a variety of Colonial Williamsburg’s most haunted sites. The tour begins at the Play House Stage on Palace Green and is suitable for ages 8 and older.
The Actor’s Lament:
The Actor’s Lament is a brand new theatrical play put on by Colonial Williamsburg. The play takes place outdoors and centers around a fledgling theatre company as it arrives to open up for the season.
The play runs every Thursday and Saturday through Nov. 6.
Williamsburg Farmers Market:
The Williamsburg Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The farmers market features over 40 vendors that offer a variety of local products including produce, meats, seafood, baked goods, honey, cheese, cut flowers, handmade soaps, and more.
The Williamsburg Farmers Market features live music from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
The Williamsburg Farmers Market accepts cash, credit cards, SNAP, and W&M Express. Free parking is available. As a precaution, masks are required to enter the market.
