VDOT to Perform Flagging Operations On Longhill Road

UPDATE (Sept. 23, 2021, 10:40 a.m.): Due to inclement weather in the area, VDOT has changed the tentative date of the flagging operation on Longhill Road from Sept. 23 to Monday, Sept. 27. The story below reflects this addition. -Ed.

JAMES CITY COUNTY — Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has scheduled a flagging operation to take place on Longhill Road between Olde Town Square Shopping Center and Wellspring United Methodist Church, 4871 Longhill Road. On Sept. 23, VDOT announced that the date for these operations will be moved to Sept. 27.

The operation will allow for work crews to install underground pipes across the roadway. Due to the increase in construction activity and current traffic configuration along Longhill Road, Olde Towne Road and Devon Road, drivers should anticipate potential delays and use alternate routes if possible.

This work is dependent upon weather conditions; therefore, the schedule and duration of the work are subject to change.
