Traffic Alert: Watch for Slow Moving Trucks Entering Goodwin Neck Road

YORK COUNTY — York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (YPSO) has issued a traffic alert for the section of Goodwin Neck Road around the entrance to the old refinery.

According to the YPSO’s Facebook page, on weekdays for the next several months, trucks will use the be hauling storage containers from the property. The trucks hauling the large pieces of metal will be slowly exiting the property, located near Hornsbyville Road, and turning onto Goodwin Neck Road towards Dandy.

Due to the 55 mile-per-hour speed (mph) limit on the road and the size of the trucks and their payloads, YPSO urges motorists to use caution when driving in that area.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has placed temporary caution signs.
