Providence Classical School is celebrating 20 years! [Free read]

Providence Classical School is extremely excited to be celebrating its 20th year in the Williamsburg Community!

Our ability to serve this community was made possible by the founding vision of four dedicated individuals, Rev. Tom Darnell, Dr. Paula Ginsburgh, Mrs. Lesley Hamer, and Mrs. Laurin Hogan, and by the numerous families who entrusted their children’s education to us over the decades.

Our school grew gradually, opening with just Kindergarten through fifth grade, then in 2006 sixth grade was added, and in 2013 we graduated our first senior class. During these years, we have had the great honor of nearly 900 students walking through our doors and 61 graduates bearing the name of PCS as their alma mater.

In recent years, Providence has expanded to include a Junior Kindergarten program, a musical strings program for kindergarten through third grade, and an athletic department. We anticipate future steps of important growth over the next few years, including in the immediate future, a high school trip to Europe to more tangibly explore and study our classical roots.

We look forward to our inaugural PCS Patriot Open Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Williamsburg National Golf Club to kick off the celebration! The festivities will continue with our annual family school picnic on Friday, September 17, 2021, but with special recognitions as we revisit our history in the making.

Our founding mission continues to be the following: PCS provides a classical, Christ-centered education, equipping our students with a thorough biblical world and life view that captures their affections and enables them to discern, articulate, and live truth.
