WILLIAMSBURG — Aviation enthusiasts and other community members are invited to enjoy a fly-in breakfast under the big tent.
The 2nd Saturdays Pancake Fly-In (or drive-in) will take place rain or shine at the Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport (WJA), 100 Marclay Dr, on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 8 to 10:30 a.m.
The airport’s pancake fly-ins began in August and will run every second Saturday of the month through December.
On the menu for each attendee are three pancakes, two sausages, scrambled eggs, coffee and orange juice.
There will also be a $6 optional donation that will benefit the Williamsburg Aviation Scholarship Program (WASP), according to the airport manager and scholarship board member Heron Weidner.
WASP is designed for rising Hampton Roads high school juniors and seniors who want to pursue a career in aviation. The program provides them with funding towards training.
Along with the fly-in breakfast, a car show will also be held at the airport on Saturday. Cars will be out on the ramp all day during the annual gathering of the First Settlers Region Porshce Club of America.
