WILLIAMSBURG — To celebrate Constitution Day, William & Mary Law School‘s Institute of Bill of Rights Law is set to host a lecture given by Judge Stephanos Bibas of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 in room 127 of the Law School, 613 S Henry Street.
Bibas will give a lecture entitled, “Arrogance, Showing Off, and Hiding the Ball: The Dangers of Judicial Rhetoric in American Democracy”, which is scheduled to last an hour.
Before being appointed to the Third Circuit in 2017, Bibas was a professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He has also argued six cases before the Supreme Court. After graduating from Yale Law School in 1994, Bibas clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York.
