Registration Open for Adult and Youth Art Classes in York County

YORK COUNTY — This fall, the Senior Center of York will offer eight week art classes for adults and youths.

On Tuesdays from Sept. 21 through Nov. 9 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., children ages six-12 will explore the basic building blocks of art, including line, pattern, shape and color.

The children will learn to create works of art using watercolor, pastels and colored pencils.

This eight-week class will be held at the Senior Center of York, 5314 George Washington Memorial Hwy.

The Senior Center will also hold an eight-week landscape painting class for people ages 16 and up.

The classes will be held on Thursdays, starting Sept. 23 to Nov. 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will focus on composition, color theory and different painting techniques.

The class will explore sunrises, sunsets, high and low tides, and seasonal colors.

The deadline to register for these classes is Wednesday, Sept. 15.
