Woman Killed in Vehicle Crash on Rochambeau Drive

JAMES CITY COUNTY — The Virginia State Police (VSP) investigated a two-vehicle crash in James City County that left one woman dead and her husband critically injured.

The crash occurred on Saturday, Aug. 28 at approximately 1:42 p.m., on Rochambeau Drive, east of Patriot Lane.

The driver of a 2017 Honda Accord, Dane B. Clingan, made a U-Turn in the roadway, crossed the double solid yellow lines and was struck in the passenger side by a 2013 Jeep Wrangler.

Dane Clingan’s wife, 59-year-old Jacqueline Lee Clingan, was killed upon impact. Dane Clingan was transported to MCV, Richmond with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Richard B. Driscoll, the driver of the Jeep Wrangler, did not suffer any injuries.

VSP said that alcohol and speed were not contributing factors and no charges are pending.
