James City County Pools and Parks Impacted by Staff Shortages

JAMES CITY COUNTY — Operating hours for three James City County Parks and Recreation facilities have been affected due to staff shortages.

Chickahominy Riverfront Park is open daily, but the outdoor pool and splash pad will close Monday, Aug. 30 through Thursday, Sept. 2.

Both will reopen for Labor Day weekend on Friday Sept. 3 and stay open through Monday Sept. 6. Operating hours for Labor Day weekend are Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The pool and splash pad will then close for the season at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6.

Upper County Park is also open daily. The outdoor pool remains open only on weekends through Sept. 6, but the outdoor pool will be open on Labor Day. Pool operating hours are Fridays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The pool is closed Mondays through Thursdays, except for Monday, Sept. 6 from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m.

The James City County Marina Office and Store will close daily at 4 p.m.
