2nd Annual Bow Wow and Meow 5K Coming to York River State Park

WILLIAMSBURG — Bring running shoes and a pet item donation for the second annual Bow Wow and Meow 5K.

The Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix event takes place at York River State Park, 9801 York River Park Rd., on Saturday, August 21.

Participants can take on the 5K Run/Walk, which is a 3 mile course for a $35 fee, or the One Mile Fun Run, which is a a one-mile run/walk course for a $10 fee.

Additionally, there is a 5K Virtual Run, where participants can run, walk, or use a treadmill wherever they choose at a $35 fee.

Participants are also encouraged to bring a pet item donation for 4 Paws Animal Rescue, such as toys, bedding and food, and receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a door prize.

Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7 a.m. The One Mile Fun Run will start at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. The event will conclude at 10 a.m. with the awards ceremony.

There is a $5 fee per vehicle for parking upon entering the park and is not included into the registration fee.
