RICHMOND — The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) has agreed to an expansion of a streaming rights partnership with the subscription streaming service, FloSports, according to a CAA press release.
FloSports will have exclusive streaming rights to 13 CAA sports for the next two years. The conference, which includes the College of William & Mary, University of Richmond and James Madison University, will stream at least 850 events a year for the duration of the agreement. All regular season CAA-controlled football and men’s and women’s basketball games will be streamed exclusively through FloSports, but CAA schools will retain rights to broadcast games on a local television format.
The CAA has been streaming its events through the Texas based company since 2019. The CAA was the first college conference to use a direct-to-consumer company as its primary media partner. In the two years since the initial agreement, FloSports streamed more than 440 CAA events between 2019 and 2020 before the spring season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the condensed 2020-2021 season they were able to stream 448 events.
