JAMES CITY COUNTY — Residents may be getting a phone call for the next two weeks to be randomly selected to participate in a survey.

James City County has partnered with Shapard Research and GBB Solid Waste Management Consultants to conduct a survey of County residents about trash collection in the County.

The survey is part of the County’s Trash Consolidation Study, which seeks to assess the current approach to trash collection and recommend solutions that provide responsible, sustainable and economic benefits to the community and the environment.

The July 27 Board of Supervisors meeting featured a presentation on the Trash Consolidation Study, which included an overview of the scope of work and a timeline.

Survey participants will be randomly selected and contacted by phone over a period of up to two weeks beginning Aug. 9.

Citizens who wish to provide additional input about trash collection services can complete an online form here. Data from the survey and feedback from the online form will be presented to the Board of Supervisors later this year.
