JCC Police Search for Suspect in Counterfeiting Incident

JAMES CITY COUNTY — The James City County Police Department (JCCPD) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a counterfeiting incident.

On Wednesday, July 21, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a woman presented a counterfeit $100 bill to the clerk at Cold Stone Creamery, 4615 Monticello Avenue.

The woman made a small purchase and received change from the transaction.

A surveillance photo shows the individual passing the counterfeit bill.

JCCPD is asking for anyone who can identify the suspect or know someone who may have been involved in this incident to contact Investigator Schugeld at 757-259-5159 or richard.schugeld@jamescitycountyva.gov, or call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Residents can also submit information through the website, p3tips.com.

Callers to the Crime Line may remain anonymous, do not have to testify in court and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 if the information provided leads to an arrest.
