JAMES CITY COUNTY — A man has died following a shooting that took place at the intersection of Carriage Road and Alesa Drive in James City County.
According to James City County Police (JCCPD) Spokesperson, Stephanie Williams, units responded around 9:15 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 8) to a report that a person had been shot.
A man, later identified as Diamont’e Malik Brown, 22 years old of York County, was found unresponsive, lying in the street in the 200 block of Alesa Drive.
He was transported by medics to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Another 22-year-old James City County man, who has not been identified, sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the leg. He had been been driven to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center by a friend prior to officers’ arrival.
Investigators have identified a person of interest and the investigation remains active.
