YORK COUNTY — Parents looking for early education for their 3-5 year-olds may have a place to go.

Spaces are currently available for York County’s Head Start program’s upcoming school year.

Head Start is a free preschool program designed to assist families in need and provide children with a developmentally appropriate classroom experience that will prepare them for kindergarten.

Both York County Head Start and Williamsburg-James City County (WJCC)’s PREP Academy, (formerly Head Start) are accepting students for the 2021-2022 school year.

The application process for York County Head Start, located at 1490 Government Road, requires a completed online application, proof of York County residency, and family income documentation.

WJCC’s PREP Academy will remain virtual for the remainder of the year, and the application can be filled out here.
