YORKTOWN — Yorktown Market Days will join 349 other farmers markets across the Commonwealth in celebrating National Farmers Market Week

On Saturday, August 7 from 8 a.m. to noon, more than 40 local vendors, food trucks, artists, and other local businesses will set up along Riverwalk Landing, 331 Water St.

Every summer during the first week in August, the country recognizes the economic and social impact of farmers markets in communities.

This special market will feature a performance from Fifes and Drums of Yorktown on the Riverwalk Landing Performance Stage at 10 a.m.

Children can also get free “I Love Farmers Markets” temporary tattoos and parents can visit the York County Information tent to learn more about the county’s special coloring contest.

Kids have until Friday, August 27, to return their finished art work to Ben & Jerry’s Yorktown, after which shop owner Bob Deramo and his staff will select the top three submissions to win a coupon for a free frozen treat.
