DEVELOPING: Shooting on Mooretown Road Leaves Three Injured

UPDATE (Aug. 2, 2021, 12:11 p.m.): York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (YPSO) Public information officer, Shelley Ward, confirmed the shooting took place in the parking lot of the Embassy Suites by Hilton Williamsburg, located at 3006 Mooretown Rd.
YORK COUNTY — Three people were injured this morning after a shooting took place around the 3000 block of Mooretown Road.
Around 12:25 a.m., deputies from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (YPSO) responded to gun shots coming from the 3000 block of Mooretown Road, according to a public Facebook post from YPSO.
According to YPSO, the shooting may have occurred by the Embassy Suites of Hilton Williamsburg. Whether or not the shooting took place at any of the adjacent businesses has yet to be confirmed.
At the time of the post, the three victims were reported as having gunshot wounds that are believed to be non-life threatening. Two victims were transported to local hospitals by medics. The other victim was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle.
At the time of the post, there were limited details. The investigation is still ongoing.
