
WILLIAMSBURG — Calling all dogs of all shapes and sizes. Williamsburg Parks & Recreation Department will be having a Canine Carnival, featuring the 5th annual Weiner Dog Races.
On Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Quarterpath Park located at 202 Quarterpath Road, Williamsburg VA 23185.
Activities include meeting dogs looking for a new “fur-ever” home from area rescues, costume contests, Wiener Dog Races, pet vendors, veterinarians, pet information, and mingling with other dogs & dog lovers.
Contests include the following categories.
- Most Original Costume: Pups and pooches are invited to don their most creative costume and strut their stuff. Prizes sponsored by Nautical Dog
- Best Dog/Owner Duo Costume: Do you and your pet have similar matching costumes good enough to win a Duo Costume Contest? If so don’t miss out on the fun. Come dressed to impress! Prizes sponsored by Nautical Dog.
All Dachshunds are encouraged to participate in the Wiener Dog Races.
Registration is limited so register your dog early.
There will be only three races with five dogs each, by division starting at 3:30 pm. Complete rules & registration can be viewed here.
Williamsburg Parks and Recreation are also looking for organizations, vendors and dog-related exhibitors to participate in this year’s event by either sponsoring or renting a space to display, demonstrate and distribute their wares. Application and forms available here.
