WILLIAMSBURG — The City of Williamsburg is hosting its annual Mayor’s Cup Blood Drive in partnership with the American Red Cross.

The blood drive event will be held at the Williamsburg Community Building, 401 North Boundary Street, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, July 26.

The Mayor’s Cup Blood Drive is an annual competition for local governments to encourage communities to donate blood and raise awareness about the need for blood donations.

Williamsburg competes each year with other local cities, including Newport News, Norfolk and Chesapeake.

The competition is in partnership with the American Red Cross, a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance and disaster relief.

This is the second Mayor’s Cup Blood Drive that the City of Williamsburg has held this year.

Those who missed last month’s event can still have the chance to donate blood. Though appointments are now full, walk-ins are welcome.
