JAMES CITY COUNTY — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will completely shut down the section of Centerville Road that runs between Monticello Avenue (Route 5000) and John Tyler Highway (Route 5) as early as Friday, July 9 through Thursday, July 15.
Milling and paving of the roadway will take place on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. That section of road is expected to be completely closed for two days. However, the work is dependent upon weather and the schedule is subject to change.
This closure is part of a larger paving project along Centerville Road stretching from John Tyler Highway to Theodore Allen Road. Motorists may expect single lane closures as the project continues over the next several weeks, VDOT stated in a .
