Massage LuXe Masseur Convicted of Sexually Assaulting Five Victims

JAMES CITY COUNTY — A former massage therapist who worked at the MassageLuXe location on Monticello Ave. was found guilty last Thursday of assaulting five victims. 

Shawn Lamonte Robinson, 48, was arrested back on Dec. 18, 2020 after a 41-year-old woman reported to the James City County Police Department (JCCPD) on Dec. 16 that she was assaulted on Dec. 15.

It was later revealed in a Mar. 25 news release from JCCPD that Robinson actually had his license revoked several months prior. 

Additionally, documents available through the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) show that numerous clients made the massage therapy location aware of alleged assaults involving Robinson that occurred on premises. According to Stephanie Williams, spokesperson for the JCCPD, the five victims involved with this particular set of convictions are from James City County, Williamsburg, York County, Petersburg, and Lanexa. She also said that they were all assaulted at the same location. 

According to public records from Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, Robinson has been found guilty on three counts of object penetration, one count of assault and battery, and six counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Williams added that JCCPD has been spearheading the continuing investigation regarding Robinson. 

His sentencing is scheduled to take place on Oct. 6, 2021.
