YORK COUNTY — York County will break ground on the renovation and expansion of the Yorktown Library.

The public is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony at Yorktown Library, 8500 George Washington Memorial Highway, on Thursday, June 17.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a brief ceremony followed by the groundbreaking.

The Yorktown Library closed in late May as it undergoes renovations.

The 10,000 square foot expansion project is set to be completed in fall of 2022.

The expansion will also give the library a renovated children’s area with a new story time room, a teen section, an updated space for events programs, technology workspaces and new meeting rooms.
