HISTORIC TRIANGLE — This Saturday, June 19 is Virginia’s first official state observance of Juneteenth. Below is a list of local government closure in observance of the commemoration.
Gloucester County
All county government offices will be closed Friday, June 18.
James City County
All county offices, courts and libraries will be closed Friday, June 18.
James City County Recreation Center and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center will remain open for normal business hours. Additionally, county parks and convenience centers will remain open.
City of Poquoson
City Hall, school board and nonemergency city offices will be closed on Friday, June 18.
City of Williamsburg
All city offices will be closed.
Waller Mill Park will maintain normal operational hours. Quarterpath Recreation Center continues to be closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For water emergencies after hours, on holidays, and on weekends, residents are encouraged to call 757-220-2331.
Also, payments made through the 24-hour drop box located at the front of the Municipal Building at 401 Lafayette Street on June 18 will not post until Monday, June 21.
York County
The offices for the York-Poquoson Cooperative Extension as well as the Courts will be closed on Friday, June 18. All other county government offices will remain open.
