JCC Announces Date of Water Main Replacement Project

(WYDaily)

JAMES CITY COUNTY — On Friday, June 11, James City Service Authority (JCSA) announced that construction will begin on Monday, June 14 to replace a water main located on Route 5 at Powhatan Creek.

Earlier this spring, the water main broke and later prompted JCSA to issue voluntary water restrictions for county residents.

Beginning on Tuesday, June 15, one lane on Route 5 at Powhatan Creek Bridge will be closed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for the duration of construction. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes during these times.

A time table for the project’s completion has not yet been released. However, the voluntary water restrictions will remain in effect during construction.
