
UPDATE — City of Williamsburg Firefighters, who arrived on the scene of a residential fire at 6:55 p.m. Friday June 11. It took a total of 18 firefighters just over an hour to contain the blaze that was coming from the roof and eaves of the residence. No one was injured in the fire and the residence who were home at time were all able to escape the house on their own, according to a press release from the City.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the WFD’s Community Risk Reduction Team.
According to Deputy Chief Larry Snyder, the residents of all three apartments in the house have been temporarily displaced until the building owner can get the structure inspected by a third party electrician.
It was initially reported that only the residents of the apartment that was under the blaze would be displaced.

WILLIAMSBURG — At 6:50 p.m. on Friday, June 11, Williamsburg Fire Department (WFD) responded to an emergency call at the 400 block of S. Boundary St.
It was reported that smoke was coming from the eaves in attic space of a three apartment complex. The all of residents were evacuated and there are no injuries reported.

While the roads leading into the neighborhood were shut down, most of them have since been reopened.
The residents that occupy the apartment directly beneath where the smoke was reported will be displaced for tonight. However, the residents of the other two apartments will not have to be evacuated.
The cause of the smoke is still under investigation.
