Henrico Police Officer Charged with Abduction, Domestic Assault in JCC

JAMES CITY COUNTY — A Henrico County Police officer and Toano resident faces multiple charges including two felony counts of abduction.

Robert Luke Swift, 24, was arrested by James City County Police Department (JCCPD) after an unnamed victim reported details to police about several incidents that occurred on May 27 and June 1 that included domestic assault, credit card theft and abduction. The incidents allegedly took place in a Toano-area residence and in a vehicle while driving around James City County.

Swift is currently being held at the Virginia Regional Jail on the two abduction charges as well as one count of domestic assault and one count of credit card theft.

A press release from JCCPD stated that the department worked with Henrico County officials in order to serve the outstanding warrants at the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office.
