REGIONAL — Since Virginia Governor Ralph Northam announced that he was lifting COVID-19 mitigation measures on May 27, governments all over the Commonwealth are following suit.
The City of Williamsburg announced in a press release that, starting Tuesday, June 1, all city facilities, with the exception of the Quarterpath Recreation Center, will be fully opened to the public.
The recreation center is currently being used as a School 6 Feet Apart facility for the children of City of Williamsburg employees, and will continue to be closed to the public until Williamsburg-James City County Schools complete its term on June 18.

The City also announced that face masks will no longer be required inside City buildings for people who are fully vaccinated. Those who are not fully vaccinated should continue to mask up in accordance with Center for Disease Control guidelines. Physical distancing is still encouraged.
York County offices will also not require appointments starting June 1. Go to the York County website for hours of operation.
Local government offices in James City County have been open to the public without an appointment since May 4.
