LANEXA — A single vehicle crash on the 8800 block of Diascund Road shut the road down in both directions this morning.
According to spokesperson for the James City County Police Department (JCCPD), Stephanie Williams Ortery, JCCPD and the county’s fire department responded to the accident at approximately 11:13 a.m.
A 1998 Ford pickup truck had left the road and hit a tree. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center by medics.
Diascund Road reopened at approximately 12:33 p.m., according to a notification from James City County emergency communications.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
