WILLIAMSBURG — Locals should get their dance shoes ready for the summer.

The Cumascaigh School of Irish Dance will hold summer sessions from June 14 through August 14 at both studio locations in Williamsburg, 4854 Longhill Rd, and Yorktown, 7201 George Washington Memorial Hwy.

The eight-week summer program spans from beginner through championship level, focusing on basic skills and techniques, as well as dance conditioning for both individual and team dancing, or “ceili.”

Classes will be taught by experienced, award-winning instructors, some of whom have danced at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

While Cumascaigh School owner, Meghan Comaskey, said that there are no performances planned for the summer, the students will be able to learn how to perform or compete.

“We want to get kids dancing again in a safe, healthy environment,” Comaskey said.

The price for beginners students for the eight-week program is $112. Prices for higher-level classes vary depending on the hours.
