WILLIAMSBURG — Make way, Sesame Street Forest of Fun fans! Kids’ Weekends at Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW) will run through the month of June.
From June 4-20, each weekend will have special themes for families to participate in while visiting the park. There will be several special events happening each weekend, including Let’s Play Together!, a heartwarming show at the park’s Globe Theater where families can sing and dance with Elmo and his friends while learning about the beauty of friendship. Additionally, kids can partake in the Sunny Day Celebration every half hour, which features some of Sesame Street’s favorite friends on the Sesame Street Forest of Fun stage.
BGW is also introducing an all-new Flower Maze, where families are invited to explore each twist and turn in this colorful outdoor flower-themed maze.
On June 4-6, BGW will hold Julia’s Welcome Weekend. Introducing the newest member of the BGW Sesame Street family, Julia’s character made history as the first from the show with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Guests are welcomed to visit Julia in her garden to give her a socially-distanced hello and take photos. The park will also be holding special story times with Julia and Elmo.
The following weekend, June 11-13, will be Rosita’s Friendship Fiesta Weekend. BGW is inviting guests to celebrate the joy of friendship in a special Furry Friends Dance Party, a themed scavenger hunt, as well as special story times with the star of the weekend, Rosita!
The last Kids’ Weekend, June 18-20, will be Super Grover Heroes Weekend. Combine Father’s Day with great fun while celebrating with Sesame Street’s favorite furry blue hero, Super Grover. There will be hero-themed scavenger hunts, a dance party, as well as special arts and crafts to make gifts for dads and a story time hosted by Super Grover.
The event is included with paid admission to BGW.
The park is still running at limited capacity with enhanced sanitation procedures and social distancing encouraged throughout. Recently, Busch Gardens Williamsburg announced that it, as well as its sister water park, Water Country USA, will allow guests who are fully vaccinated to attend without having to wear facial coverings. However, the parks are not requiring proof of vaccination status.
