YORK COUNTY — The Senior Center of York will administer its last vaccine on Wednesday, May 26.

The Senior Center, 5314 George Washington Memorial Hwy, began operating as a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the end of January.

Since its opening, the Senior Center has provided 10,000 doses to local residents.

The clinic was a collaborative effort between Peninsula Health Department, the Senior Center, as well as York County staff and volunteers.

York County cites the reason for the clinic’s closure as the vaccine supply becoming more available in pharmacies, doctor’s offices and pop-up clinics, which has diminished the demand for the location.

After the last of the second doses of Moderna vaccine are administered, the clinic will no longer be open.
