WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is coming to everyone’s homes.
WSO’s Spring Renewal Concert will be broadcasted on WSO’s YouTube channel on June 8 at 7:30 p.m.
This free virtual concert will feature a 30-piece orchestra conducted by David Grandis.
The concert will feature performances of Overture to L’Italian in Algiers by Rossini, Eclogue by Finzi, Prélude à l’après-midi d’un Faune by Debussy and Appalachian Spring by Copland.
For this concert, WSO is letting the audience participate.
The orchestra is looking for the community’s finest nature photographers, both amateur and professional, for their Spring Renewal Concert Photo Contest.
Participants can submit any type of nature-inspired photos that they have taken to WSO.
The orchestra will then select four winners, whose photos will be featured in their spring-themed concert broadcast.
People are encouraged to vote by “liking” the photos on Facebook and Instagram before they will be voted on by WSO’s panel of judges.
The deadline for voting is midnight, Sunday, May 23.
Participants can submit their photos to jb@williamsburgsymphony.org for a Google Drive link and photo release.
