WILLIAMSBURG — On Monday, May 17, Williamsburg Community Foundation (WCF) announced that Mr. Aahish Matani, CIMA, CPWA, CFA, was elected to the foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Mr. Matani is the managing director and a founder of the AHM Wealth Management Group of Merrill Lynch, where he has served as a financial advisor since 1999. He has trained and mentored several advisors, and served on the firm’s national diversity and inclusion counsel. He holds a Bachelor’s of Finance from Old Dominion University.
He witnessed the “American dream” from an early age when his mother emigrated from Bombay, India to New York when she was 23-years-old. Through hardwork and persistence, Mr. Matani’s mother was able to open her own business and set a fine example for her son’s future in finance.

Mr. Matani has lived in Virginia for over 25 years, currently residing in Williamsburg with his wife, Sherri Nelson, who is a local attorney.
WCF was established in 1999 to enhance quality of life in the Greater Williamsburg area. The foundation connects residents with causes that matter to them, help manage charitable funds, provide grants to organizations and scholarships within our community for pressing needs and promising opportunities. Last year, WCF awarded $1.45 million in grants and scholarships combined.
