SURRY COUNTY — The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry, operated by The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), will begin using the spring operating schedule on May 10 as early as 1 a.m.
Until May 10, the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry will continue two-boat service hours from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. as follows:
- From 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily: vessels leave both sides, Scotland and Jamestown, on the hour and half-hour. All other times: vessel leaves Scotland on the hour and Jamestown on the half-hour
The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including major holidays.
Ferry restrooms and the salon areas remain closed to the public until further notice. Drivers and passengers are asked to remain in their vehicles for the duration of the trip.
VDOT will continue to monitor and respond to travel needs as necessary.
The summer operating schedule is from Friday, May 28 through Monday, Sept. 6.
