WILLIAMSBURG — The St. Andrews Society of Williamsburg delivered nearly 600 pounds of food to the Grove Christian Outreach Center on April 6.
The donation marked Tartan Day, an annual North American celebration of Scottish Heritage. Grove Christian Outreach Center is a food pantry that provides meals, cleaning supplies and toiletries to those in need.
April 6 is the date when Scotland’s independence was established in 1320 by the Declaration of Arbroath.
The St. Andrews Society of Williamsburg celebrates Scottish heritage and tradition within the Tidewater region by organizing and promoting events and activities.
