YORKTOWN — Starting Saturday, April 10, Yorktown Market Days is reopening its weekly farmers markets at Riverwalk Landing.
The themed market days will feature food trucks, artists and vendors with the view of the York River behind it.
The season kicks off with the Go Green Market in recognition of Earth Day celebrations.
In collaboration with York County’s Department of Public Works and the York County Beautification Committee, there will be fun activities and free information to promote environmental sustainability, as well as a free giveaway of reusable shopping bag for the first 400 customers, according to the Yorktown Market Day news release.
Throughout the 2021 season, there will be some themed market days, including the Pirate Invasion Market on April 12 and Paws on the River on Oct. 30.
Like last year, Market Days will follow strict COVID-19 safety precautions, with spacing between vendors and hand sanitizing stations set up. Vendors and staff will be required to wear face coverings, and signs will be posted stating that no one with symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19 in the prior 14 days is allowed to enter the market, according to the news release.
Shoppers are also encouraged to wear masks.
Yorktown Market Days at Riverwalk Landing at 331 Water Street will be open, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to noon. The market will run every Saturday until Oct. 30, with the exceptions of May 1, July 3 and Oct. 2.
There will also be extended holiday-themed markets in November and December.
In the case of inclement weather, the market will be moved into the lower level of the Water Street Parking Terrace at 331 Water Street.
