WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg’s 2nd Sundays Art & Music Festival is emerging from its winter hibernation this weekend.
The festival typically takes the months of January and February off to recharge and kicks off its 2021 season on Sunday, March 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., coinciding with the first day of daylight saving time.
Like many events in 2020, the 2nd Sundays Art & Music Festival, which bills itself as “Williamsburg, Virginia’s only ALMOST Year ‘Round Arts & Street Festival,” went on a lengthy hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finally returning in November 2020 to wrap up the season.

Sunday’s kickoff promises unique, socially-distanced artist booths lining one side of several blocks of North Boundary Street, according to the festival’s Facebook event page.
Live music will be performed by Morgan Stewart, formerly of the band Fillmore, from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and Amity Duo from 2-5 p.m. at “College Corner” — the intersection of Richmond Road, Duke of Gloucester and North Boundary streets.
“You can stroll the streets of Colonial Williamsburg and take in unique arts, handcrafts, and live music in a fun and family-friendly atmosphere,”according to the event’s website. “From face painting and craft projects for kids and adults to fine, folk, and contemporary artwork, local authors, and live music and performances for all musical tastes, there’s something to be enjoyed by all.”
Attendees are encouraged to come wearing face masks or coverings and to maintain a 6-foot distance from those outside their family and social circle.
The 2nd Sundays Art & Music Festival is on the second Sunday of every month from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March to December
The event is free and is presented by LoveLight Placemaking.
