Two Williamsburg resorts received a nod for their delivery of luxury and ease to their guests.

Forbes Travel Guide (FTG), the global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, and spas, announced its 2021 Star Awards, including recognitions for two Colonial Williamsburg Resorts properties.

The Williamsburg Inn received a five-star award, and The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg received a four-star accolade.

This is the fourth consecutive year the Williamsburg Inn has been recognized on the illustrious annual Star Rating list and it is the only Historic Triangle property to receive the prestigious Five-Star rating, according to a news release from Colonial Williamsburg Resorts.

According to FTG’s website, a representative visits every hotel, restaurant, and spa they rate, paying their own way and staying anonymously as a typical guest.

“No one can buy a rating under any circumstance. Every Star Rating is earned through our objective, independent process,” FTG’s website states.

“To be recognized for both the Williamsburg Inn and The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg is a true testament to not only our renowned services in hospitality and wellness but also our overall visitor satisfaction,” said John Jimenez, vice president of Colonial Williamsburg Resorts said in the news release.

The Williamsburg Inn, located in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg, was built by John D. Rockefeller Jr, and since opening in 1937, has hosted royalty, heads of state, military leaders, and celebrities from all over the world.

A proud brag the inn covets is it’s the only hotel in the United States where Queen Elizabeth II has stayed twice, once in 1957 and again in 2007 for the 400th anniversary of the settlement of Jamestown. With its reflective pool and dedication to the remaking of a historical landmark for elegance and sophistication, the Williamsburg Inn is a crown jewel of the Colonial Williamsburg Resorts.

The property boasts the best of the old world and the new, offering top service, amenities, and fine dining. The hotel is within walking distance of the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Area, Merchants Square shopping district, the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, exceptional dining, and 45-holes of golf.

The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg, just steps away from the Williamsburg Inn, offers “relaxing, rejuvenation, and healing therapies inspired by five centuries of wellness practices,” according to the news release.

The wellness sanctuary features relaxation lounges, steam rooms, and whirlpools, harmonizing with its historical surroundings and colonial heritage.

Century-inspired spa treatments include 17th Century Detoxifying Herbal Wrap & Hot Stone Massage, 18th Century Colonial Orange-Ginger Scrub & Massage, 19th Century African Traditional Bath & Strengthening Massage, 20th Century Williamsburg Water Therapy Experience, and 21st Century Advanced Age-Defense Spa Experience.

“We are proud of the team at The Spa for their creativity in curating bespoke services that are well-deserving of the bestowed rating. The Williamsburg Inn has long been regarded as one of the finest hotels in the world, and we are honored to be named again for our continued five-star service,” Jimenez said.
