Not sure what your kids are doing for spring break yet? This outdoor program might be exactly what they need.
Families can now register for the REC Connect and Teens On Point Spring Break Program hosted by the James City County Parks & Recreation department.
Campgoers can expect activities including field trips to Chickahominy Riverfront Park, 4-H “outdoor exploration” at local parks and hands-on activities like trivia challenges and fishing along the James River, according to the JCC Parks & Rec’s brochure.
The camp costs $25 per day and runs for one week starting April 5-9.
The deadline to register is Friday, March 12 at noon and space is limited. You can sign up here.
The elementary program for kids ages 5- to 10-years-old is at the following locations:
- Matoaka Elementary School, 4001 Brick Bat Road.
- Norge Elementary School, 7311 Richmond Road.
- Laurel Lane Elementary School, 112 Laurel Lane
The middle school program for teens ages 11- to 14-years-old is at the James City County Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Road.
The 2021 Spring Break Program is April 5-9 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Camp attendees must bring lunch every day.
