This county offers “mini” sports for kids

Families wanting to introduce their kids to major sports might want to check this out.

The James City County Parks and Recreation department is hosting sports classes starting in January.

The classes are for kids ages three to five years old and cost $30. You can register here.

“Each week a new sport is presented, including baseball, soccer, basketball and more,” according to the JCC Parks and Rec’s Facebook post on Dec. 15.

The “Multi-Sport Minis” classes meet at Lafayette High School, 4460 Longhill Road on Jan. 12 through Feb. 2 from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Each class is indoors and is on a Tuesday. For more information or to register for the program, visit the JCC Parks and Recreation website or call 757-259-4200.
