The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting caught on camera last week outside Tabb Middle School.
On Friday at 4:38 p.m., “multiple callers” reported shots fired and the possibility of someone injured near the school’s basketball courts, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Deputies searched the area around the school at 300 Yorktown Raod, but found no victims or anyone with a gun. Investigators did obtain a video showing one shooter firing at a person running into the woods near the school buses, the release said. No victims have turned up.
In the video, the male with no shirt on seen opening the white car door is the suspected victim. He is with a female. Detectives are trying to identify them both. The male with the #3 on his shirt in the first portion of the video is the suspect, the sheriff’s office said. He is then seen running toward the suspected victim and then again getting into a dark blue Dodge Van.
The shooter is described as black, about 6’1, wearing all black, with small dreadlocks and a do-rag, and black Crocs.
The sheriff’s office says it’s aware people from other localities frequently use the basketball court. If you have any information about the incident, call the Tip Line at 757-890-4999 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
