Although Santa and Mrs. C won’t be parading through town in the Christmas Parade, little boys and girls will still have a chance to see the Clauses before the big night this year.
The Greater Williamsburg Business Council is hosting a Santa Sighting drive-by on Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Cars will drive by the Williamsburg Community Building where Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with Fife & Drum, the William & Mary Griffin, and Colonial Williamsburg interpreters will greet families.
A map has been added to the Facebook event page and signage will help direct traffic. Vehicles should enter from North Henry Street and exit onto North Boundary Street.
Children can also drop off their letters to Santa with his handy helper elves.
“We are excited to safely welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to Williamsburg,” Terry Banez, CEO of the Greater Williamsburg Business Council, said in a news release. “We hope you and your family will join us as we kick off the Christmas season.”
After the drive-by event, Williamsburg Mayor Doug Pons will welcome Santa via Facebook Live at noon.
Santa will then share a special message with the community and read a classic holiday story, according to the news release.
