Crash in James City County kills New Kent man

A 21-year-old New Kent man was killed following a single-vehicle crash in James City County Wednesday night.

James City County Police identified the man as Tyler Raymond Eveland.

Police said Eveland was driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma west in the 4600 block of Rochambeau near the intersection of Cloverleaf Lane at around 11:12 p.m.

The car went off the road and hit a stump. It then went on its side, ejecting Eveland.

The vehicle traveled approximately 400 feet and landed upright.

Eveland, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene, police said.

No other information was released pending the outcome of the investigation.
