Yorktown Market Days will return to its regular time and waterfront location at Riverwalk Landing beginning Saturday.
That’s going to be from 8 a.m. to noon. Market Days have been operating through a temporary drive-thru model since April.
“I feel people and their pets are ready for some fresh air, fresh produce and foods, and that one-on-one interaction with the farmers and small business owners, said Mark Medford, market manager, in a news release.
There will be some changes, including required spacing between vendors and a setup to avoid congestion in typically high-traffic areas.
Vendors and staff will be required to wear face coverings. There will also be no open sampling of any foods and live entertainment has been put on hold, according to a news release from York County.
Hand sanitizer stations will be set up as customers enter as well as signs stating that no one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is allowed to shop the market.
Many vendors say they plan to continue to offer pre-order, pre-payment, and pick-up options, although it will be up to those individual businesses to communicate plans and to make arrangements with customers, according to the news release.
Yorktown Market Days is a participant in the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program as well as Virginia’s Fresh Match Program which gives qualifying customers one dollar for every dollar they spend on fruits and vegetables.
The cap has been temporarily waived so families can put as much of their money as they’d like toward produce under the Fresh Match, using their EBT/Food Stamp/SNAP card. This includes the one-time benefit called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT.

Yorktown Market Days runs Saturdays through the end of October, rain or shine, with the exceptions of July 4 and Oct. 3. Once the weekly season ends, there are three special holiday markets.

The complimentary, wheelchair accessible Yorktown Trolley will be available beginning June 15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with several convenient stops throughout town.
