Authorities ask public for help in finding York County man who was last seen Sunday

UPDATE April 12, 2020: Richard M. Bateman has been found safe, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in finding a 51-year-old man who was last seen Sunday.

The sheriff’s office received the missing person report for Richard M. Bateman Thursday.

He was last seen Sunday in the 100 block of Dryden Lane in York County possibly riding a red 2000 Yamaha motorcycle. Bateman is 6 feet tall, 250 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

“Bateman is believed to be in need of medical assistance due to a pre-existing medical condition and investigators believe that he has run out of his medication,” according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen Bateman or know of his whereabouts to contact your local law enforcement agency or the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office at 757-890-3621.
